About Emerging Youth Movement
Emerging Youth Movement (EYM) was born out of community insights from Tempe’s Peoples Budget campaign. In September 2021, a group of community organizations with experience in restorative justice, community service, and youth mentorship came together committed to creating a path to free youth from incarceration.
EYM provides pathways for BIPOC youth, especially Black youth, to avoid incarceration through human services rooted in restorative and transformative justice. We emphasize repair and healing over punishment—an approach that’s been proven to benefit youth and their communities.
